“I completed a Certificate IV in Accounting last year and didn’t result in any work. I’ve always been interested in laboratories and chemistry. I wasn’t sure if I could do it.
I attended an info session at LTT Perth and I got to meet Sahar and ask questions about the MSL40118 Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques course. My training experience has been fantastic and very hands on. I got all the support I needed, I basically started from scratch. It hasn’t been stressful, but we’ve learnt everything we needed to learn. Sahar has been really encouraging.
The LTT course was much better than other providers, it was only 23 weeks. The course was better than I expected! I really enjoyed working in the lab, my favourite aspect was the titrations.
I have already had my first job in a lab which I started in December 2020. This was a lab assistant role in a bauxite mineral lab. I also got a second part-time job, a metallurgical position! I have been working these two jobs while finishing my course. Last week I went for an interview for a lab tech role with SGS!
Sahar has been really great; she has a lot of connections with the labs in Perth. Since day one she tells us to update our resumes and send them out. She is so proactive and supportive. The course I did last year was nothing like the course at LTT. ”
