This qualification is delivered by LTT Group Pty Ltd (RTO 51621) and reflects the role of pathology assistants and specimen reception staff in laboratories.
Duration
Approximately 12-24 months
Our training is competency based, and qualifications can be completed at a pace that suits the organisation and the individual. Training is delivered on-site in the workplace. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit transfer processes are available for eligible students.

For students eligible for government support
This qualification is funded by the Queensland Government for students who meet the eligibility criteria under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program or the User Choice program (for traineeship delivery).
Certificate 3 Guarantee
$300 - concession student co-contribution fee
$400 - non-concession student co-contribution fee
Co-contribution fees represent the total cost to the student to enrol in, undertake training, and be awarded the qualification. Students will no longer be eligible for a government subsidised training place under the Certificate 3 Guarantee once they complete a certificate III level vocational qualification.
User Choice
$345.60 - concession student co-contribution fee
$864 - non-concession student co-contribution fee
Fees are calculated based on 465 course nominal hours at a concession rate of $0.64 per nominal hour and non-concession rate of $1.60 per nominal hour.
To be eligible for a concession rate, the student must:
Be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, or
Be under the age of 17 at the end of February in the year of training commencement and not have completed year 12, or
Hold a health care or pensioner concession card or be the partner or dependent of a health care or pensioner concession card holder; be named on the card; and issue LTT with an official form under Commonwealth law confirming concession entitlements
Fee exemptions apply where:
Credit transfer is awarded for a unit
The student is a school-based trainee
The student is undertaking a qualification as part of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work – Work Skills Traineeship program
For students not eligible for government support
$4,860 - fee for service student tuition fee

A traineeship is the time spent learning a job (or vocation) under a formal training contract with the employer.
In most cases, a new entrant / new worker traineeship involves an employee who has been with the company for less than three months full-time or 12 months part-time or casual.
In most cases, an existing worker traineeship includes an employee who has been with the company for more than three months full-time or 12 months part-time or casual.
Eligibility is calculated on a case-by-case basis for individual employees. We will liaise on behalf of the employer with the relevant Australian Apprenticeship Support Network provider to determine eligibility.
