About

This qualification is delivered by Labtech Training Victoria Pty Ltd (RTO 22545) and equips students with practical skills in drawing blood, administering first aid, participating in workplace health and safety, implementing infection control and more.


Duration

  • Approximately 12-24 months

Our training is competency based, and qualifications can be completed at a pace that suits the organisation and the individual. Training is delivered on-site in the workplace. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit transfer processes are available for eligible students.


Fees

For students eligible for government support

This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. We encourage individuals with disabilities to access training subsidised through the Skills First program. Enrolment under Skills First will impact access to further government supported training. The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.

  • $579 - concession student co-contribution fee

    The total course fee is made up of a tuition fee of $229 (student co-contribution) and a clinical work placement fee of $350.

  • $1,495 - non-concession student co-contribution fee

    The total course fee is made up of a tuition fee of $1,145 (student co-contribution) and a clinical work placement fee of $350.

For students not eligible for government support

  • $5,157 - fee for service student tuition fee

  • HLTINF006 Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control

  • HLTPAT001 Identify and respond to clinical risks in pathology collection

  • HLTPAT002 Perform venous blood collections

  • HLTPAT004 Collect pathology specimens other than blood

  • HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety

5 elective units:

  • CHCCOM001 Provide first point of contact

  • HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems

  • HLTAID011 Provide first aid

  • HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing

  • HLTPAT006 Receive, prepare and dispatch pathology specimens
