“Before joining LTT I worked as a Doctor in India and I was preparing for Australian medical council exams.
I chose to study with LTT as they provide the HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology Collection. Even though the course is shorter than others, it covers all the required topics like first aid, work health and safety. The main aspect of the course is blood and other sample collections. My training was very good, it gave me an in-depth knowledge of pathology collection.
The staff are amazing and friendly. My favourite part of the course was the regular blood collection practicals. The active role-plays gave me real experience. My work placement was at a public hospital which made me job-ready.
I finished my course in February 2020 and gained employment in June 2020 with 4Cyte Pathology.
I am currently working in a COVID-19 collection centre. My daily tasks include:
• communicating and reassuring the patients
• confirming their details
• COVID-19 testing which involves collecting throat and nasal swabs
• labelling the samples
• entering the details in the register and,
• arranging for the samples to be transported to the lab.”
