Nicole started a degree in medical science at university, but discovered that the course contained too much theory and not enough practical work. Nicole set her sights on an alternative career pathway, and attended one of LTT’s information sessions to see what other options she had. By visiting LTT’s classrooms at the information session, Nicole was able to see how pathology works in practice, and soon after she enrolled in a Certificate III in Pathology Collection.
“There was the opportunity for two people from our class to get chosen for work experience, and I was lucky enough to be one of them. I started work experience at the Clinipath Pathology collection centre in West Perth, as well as relief work in Doubleview, Churchlands, Dalkeith and Claremont. From there I found full time work at Mount Hospital Collection Centre and Laboratory, working as a Multi-skilled Collector.
LTT’s course provided me with the hands-on skills and experience I needed to get into the pathology industry. As well as the opportunity to undertake a work placement at Clinipath Pathology. I am currently completing a Certificate IV in Laboratory Collection traineeship with LTT and will be finished by next year. I have recommended LTT’s courses to my friends who are looking for a practical, hands-on learning style approach.”
