Real student review: Indyana February 4, 2020 Sarah Knuckey Indyana and her class mates. “Before studying at LTT I was working in retail. I completed a Certificate IV in Nursing Studies as part of my WACE Certificate during high school to get into university. I almost completed my first year of nursing but decided I was too young and wanted to work full-time to support myself instead. As I have a bit of medical background, I thought pathology collection would be a great way into the healthcare industry. Once I started the course, I really loved it. The training at LTT is thorough. It is people-based so you’re learning from a really good trainer. My work placement was at South Guildford Hospital and I loved it. While it was a bit nerve racking, my previous experience working in retail prepared me for working with real people. I was picking up things so quickly that by the second day I was able to start bleeding people. I completed 43 bleeds in total. The patients were so lovely and had really good feedback for me, I even got a few compliments. Straight after completing my work placement, Australian Clinical Labs contacted me for an interview. After finding out I had been accepted for the job at Midland Hospital, I cried from happiness on my drive home!” — Indyana, HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology Collection student
