Nationally, LTT are the number one supplier of trained pathology collection graduates to both the public and private health sectors. LTT offer a unique recruitment and training solution for the pathology collection industry that optimises state and federal funding. Clients may recruit from our pool of graduates or choose to have staff trained in the workplace. Our graduates complete 15-20 live bleeds before their compulsory work placement, giving them confidence in collection techniques and ensuring their work-readiness.
Our training is in line with the new TGA guidance to allow employers to meet urgent COVID-19 specific industry needs. The pandemic saw LTT provide thousands of trained and qualified collectors for critical response teams nationally. In response to industry demand for quality assured training, we developed several bespoke skill sets focusing on sample collection and rapid antigen screening.
LTT’s vast experience in pathology collection intersects and adds value to our work in pathology laboratories. Both public and private sector laboratory networks engage LTT for training for staff performing a range of tasks across microbiology, histology, haematology, cytopathology and immunology. LTT programs provide opportunities to upskill existing staff to be more effective not only in the lab, but in other roles that are critical to effective laboratory operations. Our trainers are experienced in identifying common issues with sample collection and programs are designed to improve patient outcomes.
Learning programs are specific to the individual workplace, but will be designed develop skills in aseptic techniques, microscopy, biological procedures, data collection and analysis, workplace health and safety and the maintenance and calibration of equipment. Specialist units are also covered in higher qualifications.
