About

This qualification is delivered by LTT Group Pty Ltd (RTO 51621) and builds technical ability in the use of laboratory application software, maintaining and controlling stock, performing chemical tests, and more.

Duration, Location & Delivery

  • Approximately 12-36 months

Our training is competency based, and qualifications can be completed at a pace that suits the organisation and the individual. Training is delivered on-site in the workplace. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit transfer processes are available for eligible students.

Fees

Course fees depend on individual eligibility for government support. If you are unsure whether you qualify for a government supported training place, please contact our team on 1300 588 588. Credit transfers may reduce the course fee payable.

For students eligible for government support

New Workers

  • $ 80 – concession new worker traineeship student co-contribution fee($0.48 per nominal hour)
  • $1,433.70 – non-concession new worker traineeship student co-contribution fee ($1.62 per nominal hour)

Existing Workers

  • $5,124.15 – $5,992.65 – existing traineeship student co-contribution fee($5.79 per nominal hour)

This qualification is funded by the Government of Western Australia for students who meet the eligibility criteria under the Jobs and Skills WA program.

An annual fee cap means that concession students and students under 25 years old will pay a maximum of $400 in a calendar year and non-concession students will pay a maximum of $1,200 in a calendar year.

Payment

LTT and Labtech Training Victoria does not accept cash payments (Australian banknotes or coins) for any student fees, including course fees, materials fees, administration charges, or any other related costs. All payments are required to be processed via electronic methods.

Accepted Payment Methods

Students can make payments using the following methods:

  • Credit/Debit Card:  Payments can be made in person at the administration office using EFTPOS facilities or made online via the student portal.
  • Direct Bank Transfer (EFT): Funds can be transferred directly to the LTT and Labtech Training Victoria nominated bank account. (Account details provided on invoices and written agreements).
  • Payment Plan Providers: Approved third-party payment instalment through Ezidebit Direct Debit recurring payment available to students through their Merchant Trust Initiative (MTI) Portal.
  • Government Funding: Payments processed via relevant government schemes where LTT and Labtech Training Victoria has the necessary contractual agreements in place.

A traineeship is the time spent learning a job (or vocation) under a formal training contract with the employer. In most cases, a new entrant / new worker traineeship involves an employee who has been with the company for less than three months full-time or 12 months part-time or casual.

In most cases, an existing worker traineeship includes an employee who has been with the company for more than three months full-time or 12 months part-time or casual.

Eligibility is calculated on a case-by-case basis for individual employees. We will liaise on behalf of the employer with the relevant Apprentice Connect Australia Provider (ACAP) to determine eligibility.

  • MSL924005 Process and interpret data
  • MSL934009 Apply quality system and continuous improvement processes

Great learning experience at LTT Training Lab! Teacher Zafar is very knowledgeable, patient, and supportive. As a shy person, I always felt comfortable and encouraged in class. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and my classmates made teamwork enjoyable 😊🩷

A suggestion for improvement would be to provide more equipment for practice and exams to reduce waiting time, regularly check product storage and expiry dates, and repair or replace broken equipment 🧫🧪

Overall, I highly recommend LTT Training Lab 🧬🔬

Whilst attending LTT, I completed my Certificate 4 in Laboratory Techniques with Dr Zafar Rasheed. I learnt various techniques that are not only applicable to my work practices, but also to my every day life. I utilize formulas and practices in various different settings, and could not be more than pleased with the skills i have adapted from this course. The staff at LTT were always ready to help, especially Heather who was a great support system for catering and assisting my needs as someone who suffers with anxiety and ASD. I was also particularly happy with the support from the team members who provided resources for applications post course completion. I felt well equipped and guided into entering the laboratory workforce. The only thing i would like to see improved with LTT is the accessibility for people with physical disabilities.


Regarding my teacher Zafar, I am more than pleased with his care and passion for his studies. I am personally satisfied with the passion he displays for the education provided to us, and for his extra care he put into his students. He always comes into class with a smile and an eagerness to teacher his students. Zafar has done really well with working with me and my needs, and has always shown compassion. His care comes after class as well, he will happily stay behind to go through concepts and questions if you should need them. He also actively encourages his students to attempt practical assignments, to ensure we are well prepared for our assessments. I am disappointed that this will be my last experience working with Zafar, as he has encouraged my love for microbiology and general chemistry. He is excellent with communication, and has a great sense of empathy. All the best to those who wish to study under his care

He always encourages us to ask questions and explains concepts professionally and patiently. I really enjoy the hands-on practical training, which aligns well with modern laboratory requirements.
