This qualification builds technical ability in the use of laboratory application software, maintaining and controlling stock, performing chemical tests, and more.
The course is designed to provide in-depth insight into the industry and focuses on promoting methodological competence, preparing students for technical jobs as laboratory personnel, including laboratory technicians, technical assistants, and more.

Total duration: 25 weeks
Training centre location: 25 Colray Ave, Osborne Park (13 minute walk from Glendalough train station)
Classroom delivery:
9am-4pm, 2 days a week over 25 weeks (50 training days) | Face-to-face at the training centre
Classes are held Mon-Tue. Public holidays may occasionally require classes to be held on alternative days and cause extensions to the course duration.

Student co-contribution fees (government-subsidised), payment plans available:
$460.80 capped at $400 per calendar year - concession / school-aged (15-17.5 years old)
$1,555.20 capped at $400 per calendar year - youth-aged (17-24 years old)
$1,555.20 capped at $,1200 per calendar year - non-concession
Student tuition fee (full fee-paying):
$5,000 - fee-for-service | Includes $500 deposit payable upon enrolment (payment plans are available for the remaining balance)

Practical & written assessments
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the MSL40122 Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, bearing the Nationally Recognised Training logo. Should you withdraw before completing all course requirements, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for any units of competency achieved.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit transfer processes and information are available during application.

Recommended computer literacy: Basic
Students must:
Complete a pre-training review (including a language, literacy and numeracy assessment) as part of the application and enrolment process.
Be at least 17 years old.
